With this DLC, with the voice of Vaas appearing in Far Cry 6’s main campaign, it seems safe to say that the Far Cry universe is being brought together in new ways.įar Cry 6’s Pagan Min: Control DLC is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. When one set on the timeline and how, or if, it connected to the others didn’t matter-that is, until Far Cry 6. Players shouldnt get their hopes up about having a plethora of choices to decide the fate of Dani on the island of Yara. This usually requires making the choice to walk out on the rebels or. In total, there are only two different endings in Far Cry 6. However, it’s always been in a loose, almost anthology-like way. These endings effectively ended the game early if the player decided to take the opposite path of what was expected of them. After the Resist ending of Far Cry 5, the world suffers a nuclear war, known to some as the Collapse (however, with the release of Far Cry 6 which apparently takes places in a contemporary setting, the Collapse might prove to be an alternative timeline, no longer followed by the next game. The games have always been connected, with Hurk being one common element (except in Far Cry 6). The first ending can be obtained by playing through every operation in the game, from La Noche De La Muerte to The Battle Of Esperanza. Regardless, what this secret ending means is that Far Cry 4 led to nuclear weapons that were warned about in FC5, destroying the world at its end, and the repercussions thereof seen in Far Cry: New Dawn. Thus, with the next DLC featuring Joseph Seed and appropriately titled Collapse, it could be that there are more connections drawn. The game will then cut to 'three months later' and show Dani sitting on a beach listening to a news report about how President Castillio has killed Clara and ended the revolution. Although the protagonist, Sheriff Whitehorse, and the other deputies seemingly escape, the rest of the game’s companions and characters are left under Joseph’s control. It should be noted that multiple superpowers launched nukes in this 24-hour window, but there's no mistaking that Pagan Min's nuke in Far Cry 6 is what appears in FC5. If players chose to walk away when they finally confront Joseph Seed at his chapel, a lot of the story is left unresolved. Ajay Ghale either turns over Kyrat over to Sabal or Amita, with one turning the country into a theocracy with some seriously misguided beliefs again and the other turning it into a dangerous drug state.Įither doesn’t sound sustainable for the country, so it seems sometime after the end of Far Cry 4, things escalate once again and Kyrat plays some role in bringing the world to an end via “The Collapse,” as seen in Far Cry: New Dawn (a direct sequel to FC5). Surrounded by the leaders of each revolutionary group, Dani is holding the now dead dictator's murdered son. Anton, fully understanding the situation he is in, shoots his son in the heart then slits his own throat, leaving Yara without a leader. Players likely remember that there is no real “good” ending in Far Cry 4. The Ending Finally, Dani has a terminally ill Castillo and his son Diego cornered. Backing up for a second, what this means is that the events of Far Cry 4 now retroactively influence the events of Far Cry 5.
